How to set the user PIN code for the monitor and projector in UK
On 04 Apr 2024

Monitors and projector products launched before 2024 have PIN values used for Parental lock settings and resets applied as default values ("0000"). Accordingly, Samsung Electronics is planning to conduct a software update on April, 2024 to improve users to set PIN code values in the initial setting stage of the product. In order for the improved function to work, the user must run the "Reset (or Factory data reset)" of the monitor (or projector) product for the first time after the software update is completed automatically. Please refer to the following for the target model name and how to run "Reset (or Factory data reset)".

On 02 Feb 2023

In order to prevent unauthorized access to user information by our employees, Samsung Electronics operates the Samsung Electronics Cloud Ops Platform (SCOP), which is a self-regulating in-house security system designed to manage access and control seamless connections between servers and databases across all cloud services and relevant infrastructure in its Visual Display division. SCOP aims to achieve following goals:

- effective and secure access control for service resources including the users' personal data;
- detecting unauthorized persons from accessing the management workstation and arbitrary operation; and
- global compliance by recording the details of authorizations, alterations or cancellations (and keeping such records for a minimum period required by applicable data protection laws) and conducting audits, if necessary.

TV security team audit
On 18 Mar 2021

Samsung maintains a dedicated security team to support all samsung TV products. We, Samsung TV security team, provide security auditing and testing for products, both under development and released. We also actively monitor for threats and reports of new security issues.
Monitoring can be done in two ways, internally and externally. Internally, we try to find security vulnerabilities via penetration tests with security experts in Samsung. Externally, we pay attention to vulnerabilities from security researchers through various methods. This Bug bounty program is representative of this effort. We reward the person who notifies Samsung about any vulnerability through the program and acquires information about security vulnerabilities in our products. Sometimes reports come from a contracted 3rd party security team, an academy or non-profit community. We monitor internet and security-related media every day in order not to miss any security issues with Samsung TVs. Depending on the importance, the range of the patch is determined and processed as soon as possible.
